W. 2ND AVtNUE BETWEEN 7TR AND BTH STRttTS: AUTHOR12/NO AND DIRtCTINC THE CITY MANACtR TO ALLOCATE BAIL SUM PROM SPECIAL REIMBURStMENT PUNDS AUTHORIZED BY PtbtRAL PUBLIC LAW 92-500. wlintAs, the City Commission adopted Motion 75-618 on July 17, 1975 which authorized and directed the City Manager to proceed with award of contract to the low bidder for removing a building located in the area of N. W. 2nd Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets; and WHEREAS, emergency action was taken by the City Manager in accepting bids to demolish the aforesaid building, and authorization to proceed with the work was given to Garcia Equipment Company; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The action of the City Manager in accepting the bid received from Garcia Equipment Company for total cost of $12,440.00 for removing a building located in the area of N. W. 2nd Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets be, and is hereby, confirmed. Section 2. Commercial Building Legal Description: Lot 5.4 & 7, Block 45, Miami North B-41 Your bid does not include the adding of fill. Please note that if you are awarded the bid, this is to warn you not to commence work until you have received a purchase order from the City of Miami Purchasing Division. Procedure to be followed in submitting bids is as follows: 1. Sealed bid is to be submitted in original form and one copy before noon, July 16, 1975, to the Clerk of the City of Miami- 2. Include in demolition bids the statement: "Owner has been given credit for all salvable material in our bid." 3. Permits are to be secured from city Miami Building Department, and work is to commence within 10 days after you are awarded contract and you receive a purchase order. 4. Responsibility for removal of all sanitary, gas and electrical installations when required shall be assumed by your firm, if you are successful bidder. 5. City of Miami reserves the right to reject any and all bids submitted. 6. On completion of job and inspector final OK, forward release of lien and invoice. 7. Bids and all related correspondence shall be addressed to: Clerk of City of Miami, P.O. Box 708 Miami, Florida 33133. Please have the City Attorney prepare the necessary resolution to confirm the emergency actions taken by the City Manager in accepting bids to demolish the building located at 701-743 N. W. 2nd Avenue, and his awarding the bid and the authorization to proceed with the work to Garcia Equipment Company for a total cost of $12,440. The City Manager was given the auth,rity by Motion 75-618: "Motion of intent to authorize and direct the City Manager to proceed with award of contract to the low bidder for removing a building located in the area of N. W. 2nd Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets." The resolution to be prepared by the City Attorney should also allocate the $12,440 from Special Reimbursement Funds authorized by Federal Public Law 92-500. I attach a copy of A. P.
