Oa ** It is necessary to make repairs to the Lawrence Storm Pumping Station No. 31, located on the northeast corner of N.W. 17th Place and N.W. 7 Street. The cost of the aforesaid work is estimated at $9,000 and the City has received $15,000 in unanticipated income that can be used for this repair. It is necessary for the preservation of peace, health, safety and property of the City that the work be accomplished as expeditiously as possible and that this Ordinance be adopted as an emergency measure. To serve this area the Department of Public Works has designed the DELAWARE SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5390 C (centerline sewer) as an assessable improvement under Section 56 of the City Charter. City Manage_ recommends. 27. ** Resolution ordering BISCAYNE VEST HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4390 - and designating the property against which special assess- 7 s � ments shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof as BISC:AYNE WEST HIGIHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT is-4390; and nllocating the amount of $5,000 from the Highway Bond Fund for Preliminary Expense. ** Plans and specifications are being prepared to rebuild approximately 2.4 miles of streets ir.'the area between N.E. 4th Court and Biscayne Boulevard from N.E. 62 Street to N.E. 71 Street, The Improvements will be constructed within the existing rights of way and shall include clear- ing and grading, asphaltic concrete pavement with a minimum 1 inch asphaltic concrete surface course and 8 inch limerocti 11f base, concrete valley gutter, concrete curb and gutter, monolithic concrete sidewalk curb and gutter, incidental sideware where required, drainage and landscaping where practical, The approximate cost of this Improvement is estimated to be $600,000 and funds are available from the f Highway and Storm Sewer Bond Funds, City Manager recommends. � is 28, 73 CITY COMISSTt1N iu E7ING J ULY 3 L, 1975 PAGE 9 * Resolution granting use of the Miami Stadium by Miami Dade Comity College, Downtoi Campus, for the purpose of conducting its baseball practice from September 9, 1975 through and including December 5, 1975, subject to advance payment for event persottnet, insurance aftd other direct eosts borne by the City, and authorizing the City Manager to enter into en agreetieat with Miami -Dade Community College for said use. ** The Miami.iade Community College does not have access to any other suitable facility to conduct its baseball practice sessions, and for the past two years the City Cotiasion has granted free use of the Miami Stadium to the college for this purpose. 29. * Resolution authorizing a trial reciprocal agreement ,.- between the City of Miami and Dade County, and any local 7municipality with golfing facilities, to allow the employees of these municipalities to pay one-half price of the regular fee during the months of July and August. 7ilfg ** Dade County is offering reduced greens fees at County operated golf courses for municipal employees. The above reciprocal agreement would permit employees of other municipalities having golfing facilities and employees of Dade County to use City of Miami golf courses at one- half the regular green fee during the months of July and August. ** Resolution authorizing the City Manager and City Clerk to execute a quit -claim deed to Cordon Browning and Olga Browning,' his wife. City Attorney recommends. * Resolution confirming the action taken by the City Manager in entering into an agreement by and between the Manpower Plan- ning Council for Dade and Monroe Counties to implement a Miami Recreation Support Program for disadvantaged young residents. ** The 1975 Recreation Support Program began the week of June 30th. Funds in the amount of $193,724 are available from the Manpower Planning Council for Dade and Monroe Counties to implement this program. 33. ** 7 • City Manager recommends. Resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager to advertise for and receive proposals from landscape architecture firms in Dade County for professional design services for Dixie Community Park located at 401 N.W. 12th Street and the New Central Miami Neighborhood Park located at N.W. 5th Avenue and N.W. 10th Street; to subsequently appoint a Competitive Selection Committee for purposes of review, evaluation and ranking of interested firms in terms of their qualifications to perform needed services, and to negotiate a contract with said firms *i0 Resolution appointing three additional members to the Advisory Committee on Substance Abuse.
