A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE MED 'b OUSMAN HALL PRC M
MAU ICE GUSMAL.
WHEREAS, Maurice Busman, a than whose generosity and
philanthropic actions have long been known, admired and
respected throughout the City of Miami and surrounding areas,
has again demonstrated his unselfish and civic -minded actions
as a concerned and compassionate man by graciously bestowing
upon the City of Miami the deed to Gusman Hall free and clear
of any debt; and
WHEREAS, Gusman Hall, which was formerly known as
the, Olympia Theater, has become a lavish, 1,800-seat showplace
for the performing arts, due to the dedication of one man,
Maurice Gusman; and
WHEREAS, by turning the deed to this magnificent
hall to the City of Miami, Maurice Gusman has aided the City
in its constant effort to insure vitality in its downtown area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Commission hereby expresses
its gratitude to this great humanitarian Maurice Gusman for
the generous gift of Gusman Hall, a symbol of culture and
beauty in downtown Miami;

failed to improve the quality of life for his fellow man.
