AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING APPRO-
PRIATION ORDINANCE No, 83'16 BY
APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $15,000 TO
COCOMUT GROVE CARES FROM THE PUBLICITY
FUND BALANCE, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
SECURING NATIoMWIbt TELEVISION COVERAGE
ON THE VI= WORLD OF SPORTS FORTHE
CITY OF MIAMI'S BOXING PROGRAM ON
DULY 26, 1975; REPEALING ALL ORbINANCES
AND CODE SECTIONS IN, CONFLICT THEREOF,
INSOFAR AS THEY ARE IN CONFLICT; CON-
TAINING A SEVERABILI'I'Y PROVISION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, by motion on May 8, 1975, the Commission
of the City of Miami Unanimpuelyi voted for the appropriation
of $17,000 for' the purpose of securing nationwide television
coverage.for.the.City of Miami's boxing program on. July 26,
1975;,-and,
WHEREAS, the administration has determined that only
$15,000 is needed for said purpose; and
WHEREAS, an ordinance is necessary to appropriate
the above captioned sum; and
WHEREAS, this expenditure must be made this week; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission finds that a genuine
emergency exists for the appropriation of the above captioned
funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 8316 is hereby amended by
appropriating the sum of $15,000 to Coconut Grove Cares from
the Piib .ieity PUhd $alanee; for the purpose of securing hatlon
Wide television doVeiarJe or the Wide World of Spokts for'the
City of Miartu) s foxing Prografn on July 26, 197
Section 2. A11 ordinances, code sections or parts
• thereof in conflict hereWith,.insofar as they are in conflict,
are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, sentence, clause, phrase,
or,word of this ordinance is for any reason held or declared to
be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding or in-
validity shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need..
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.
Section 6. The requirement of reading this ordinance
on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not
less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY TITLE ONLY this 22 day of
July
