Please prepare for the Resolution' fostering the ust of
products manufactured in the City of Miami, Metropolitan Dade
County and the State of Florida. in 1960 similar resolutions
were passed by Dade County, the City of Orlando, Sarasota County,
the House and the Senate of the State.
At a time when we, in our community, find ourselves with 12%
unemployment it is essential that whenever possible we purchase
products manufactured at home by our own people. I am all in
favor of open trade but 1 am more dedicated to the concept of
'America First' and I feel that it all starts right here at home.
The concept is as old as civilization itself and, -as the Bible
says, "God helps those who help themselves" and "Charity begins
at home".
It would be my intent, if the City passes this resolution, to
request the League of Cities to do the same, as well as Metro-
politan Dade County.
