Both the 'City of Miami and Metropolitan Dade County have acquired
property north and west of the City of Miarni Dixie Park located at
N. W. 4 Avenue and 12 Street. This land acquisition is for the
redevelopment and expansion of Central Miami park facilities.
Arrangements have been made with the Dade County Department
of l-lousing and Urban Development to have these two parcels of
park land deeded to the City. By accepting these deeds, the City
of Miami will be in a position to properly coordinate the develop-
ment and expansion of this park, as well as administer the com-
munity- and recreational programs that will be carried out at this
location. Subsequent to the acceptance of these deeds, a resolution
will be offered for adoption, authorizing solicitation for professional
design services for the park expansion.
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached
resolution authorizing acceptance of a deed of dedication for Sites
308 and 321 from Dade County for the expansion of Dixie Park.
