'.O P ROBBERY/BURGLARY PROJECT ECT OBE ADMINISTERED BY THS CITY OP MIAMMI POLICE DEPARTMENT: AUTHORIZING THE CITY' S CASH MATCH CONTRIBUTION OP $23,4i .00 IP THE GRANT IS ACCEPTED By I9EAA AND PURTHER AUTHORIZING CRIZING TI-IE CITY MANAGER TO TAkE NECESSARY ACTION PCR THE CITY TO QUALIFY FOR THE GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami, after thorough consideration of law enforcement problems, has hereby determined that the S.T.O.P. Robbery/Burglary Project is in the best interest of the general public; and WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 90-351, as amended, the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration is authorized through the Florida Bureau of Criminal Justice Planning and Assistance to make Federal Grants available to assist local governments in the improvement of criminal justice; and WHEREAS, the City is aware that at least fifty (50) percent of the minimum required non-federal cost of the project is to be appropriated by the City and that such funds are designated as "local hard cash contributions"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to make an application to the Department of Justice, Law Enforcement Assistance Administration for a "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM NO. The sum of $23,415.00 be, and it is hereby, authorized as the City's cash match contribution pro- viding the aforesaid grant is accepted by LEAA. Section 3. Robbery/Burglary II Automatic Color Photo Processing Equipment Color Video Equipment LEAA wants a formal resolution from the City Commission to be attached to each of the applications. It is therefore requested that three such resolutions be put on the Commission agenda as soon as possible. The Proposed resolutions, which conform with the conditions set forth in the Florida Subgrant Application and Instruction Manual, are enclosed. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
