MENT OF COMMERCE THAT WILL PROVIt3E FOR A
MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM FOR THE
CITY OP MIAMI FURTHER AUTi4ORIZINO TI-IE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND TO EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS TO
IMPLEMENT THE PRO CRAM UPON RECEIPT or THE
GRANT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TI4E COMMISSION OF TI#E CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to submit a grant application to the Office of Minority Business
Enterprise, U. S. Department of Commerce that will provide for a
minority business enterprise program for the City of Miami.
Section 2. That the City Manager is further authorized to accept
the grant and to execute the necessary contracts and agreements to
implement the program upon receipt of the grant.

A prelitninary,propos.l to establish a minority business enterprise program
within the City of Miami was submitted to the '. SiConference of Mayors
on May 19, 1975. The City must now develop a more detailed proposal to
be submitted to the Office of Minority Business Enterprise (OMBE), ti. S.
Department of Commerce..
A resolution will be provided at the June 5 Commission meeting authorizing
the City Manager to submit an application and accept funds from OMBE for
a minority business enterprise program.
Enclosed is a copy of the proposed resolution.
