HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-05355/27/75 RE'SOLUTto1 m., .±3±3 A RESOLUTION AUT iORtZtNO AND DtRECTtNO THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUIRE THAT THE TENANTS OE DINNER KEY MINA PIER 5 VACATE TUEtR EERTNS FOR Tt#E PERIOD gtOI NINE OCToEER 23, 1975 AND ENDING OCTOEER 21, 1975, AND THAT THEIR DOCXAGE PAYMENTS BE WAIVED FOR THAT PERIOD OE 'TIME WITH NO L08S OE DOCXAGE RIGHTS OR SENt0RITY; AND PURTHtR ANTHORXZtNO AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TC CONTRACT WITH THE MIAMI DINNER KEY BOAT SHOW F'OR TNEIR USE OF' PIER 5 FOR THE PERIOD OF! TIME THAT IT WILL BE VACANT, FOR A FEE TO BE NEGOTIATED BETWEEN THE CITY MANAGER AND, THE MIAMI DINNER KEY BOAT STOW MANAGEMENT. WHEREAS, the Miami Dinner Key Boat Show has been utiliz- ing Dinner Key Marina Pier 5 as a wet storage exhibition area during their Fall Boat Show since 1970, and the City tenants of Pier 5 have customarily vacated the pier for the period of the Boat Show; and WHEREAS, the Miami Dinner Key Boat Show management has requested to use Dinner Key Marina Pier 5 again for its boat show in October, 1975; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Facilities recommends that the tenants of Pier 5 again be required to vacate Pier 5, that their rent be adjusted accordingly, and that the City Manager be authorized to contract with the Boat Show management for their use of the pier for a rental fee to be negotiated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to require that the tenants of Dinner Key Marina Pier 5 vacate their berths for the period beginning October 23, 1975 and ending October 31, 1975, and that their dockage 'DOCUMENT INDEX. Since 1970 the City has, on most occasions) requested that the City tenants of Pier 5 vacate their slips during the period of the boat show) and the City Manager has been autho- rized by the City Commission to negotiate an agreement whereby the boat show rents the entire pier to exhibit boats in the water. The Department of Public Facilities recommends the adoption of the attached Resolution which will permit continuation of the proceduresused in previous years.
