On April 15th, 1975 wrote to Mr. Bob Ferencik, the
Director of the Building Department, notifying him
of the construction of a building whose footings
were encroaching into a private alley four to five
feet.
This alley runs east and west between Mary Street
and Bay View Street just south of Oak Avenue. At
the present time both electric and telephone
facilities are existing in this alley. I see no
need for the gas or water and there are sanitary
sewers in the surrounding .streets
As you know, the building code allows foundations
to extend into rights -of -way six inches, but we think
that this could possibly be a precedent allowing a
foundation to go half way across a private alley.
