A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCEPT OP
THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAtNTENANCt OF
T'HE AREA UNDER I» 95, BETWEEN RISCYNE
BOULEVARD AND N. El, 1ST AVENUE, AS AN
OPP�STRtEET PARKING PACILITY, AND
AUTHORI2ING AND DIRtCTING THE CITY
MANAGER AND OTHER CITY AGENCIES TO
ASSIST THE bt?ARTMENT OF OFF-STREET
PARKING IN THE PREPARATION Off' THE
NtCtSSARY DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY THE
STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPOR-
TATION.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transporta-
tion is the owner of certain rights -of -way for 1-395 within the
City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the areas between Biscayne Boulevard (US 1)
and N. E. 1st Avenue are suitable for development; and
WHEREAS, the best use for these areas has
to be off-street parking, appropriately landscaped; and
WHEREAS, the proposed use will not impair the full
use and safety of I-395 or the associated access ramps and will
not be in violation of any regulations of any Federal Agency:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission does hereby approve
the concept of the development and maintenance of the area under
1-395, between Biscayne Boulevard and N. E. 1st Avenue, as an
Off -Street Parking facility.
Section 2. The City Manager and other City agencies
are hereby authorized and directed to assist the Department of

required by the State of Florida Department of Transportation,
including any and all documents and studies which shoesthat a
landscaped off -Street Parking facility is the most compatible
use environmentally and the best use for this area and that
Off -Street parking at this location conforms to the City's
master: Land Use plan.
Section 3. The City Commission recommends that the
Department of Off -Street Parking enter into a lease agreement
as soon as practical and in accordance with the concept as
presented to this Commission.
