HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-0462PHW . t'h been RtSOLUT/O fi 75 462 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING PROM THE 'SPECIAL REIMBURSEMENT PONDS Wi EN RECEINiEb BY Tilt CITY UNDER FEDERAL PUBLIC LAW 92-SOO; $50, 000, 00 TO BE PLACED IN THE SPECIAL Ft 14IS ESTABLISHED FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND CONTRACTUAL SERVICES NECESSARY FOR CONSTRUCTING MISCELLANEOUS ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO CITY BUILDINGS; $20,000.00 TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL FUND FOR LABOR CHARGES OF PERMANENT EMPLOYEES USED TO SUPPLEMENT MANPOWER PROGRAM EMPLOYEES ON SPECIAL PROJECTS: WHEREAS, under the Manpower Program federal funds have made available to the City of Miami for hiring a number of unemployed persons; and WHEREAS, under this program the City has journeyman carpenters, painters and electricians; and WHEREAS, the City has plans for making various altera- tions and additions to existing city buildings, and WHEREAS, to accomplish these projects it is necessary to provide funds for the purchase of materials, commodities minor contractual services; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds for this appropriation can available from the Special Reimbursement Funds when several received by the City under Federal Public Law 92-500; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section-1. The amount of $50,000.00 is hereby allocated to be placed in the special fund established for the purchase of materials and contractual services necessary for constructing miscellaneous alterations and additions to City buildinq_s. Section 2, The amount of $20,000.00 is hereyb,,CITY COMMIOF SSION I allocated to establish a special cover the lab charges of permanent employees when necessary to supplement employees hired under the manpower program on special project. Section. The funds hereby allocated shell be made available from funds when received by the City from special reimbursement funds authorized by Pederal Public Law 92-500. Section 4. Andrews City Manager 5 FILE SU3JE...: Allocation of Special keit-murscn'rent Fonds Ftotn Public Lai 92=500 for ltnprovertlent Projects The City has received funds to reimburse past expenditures for pollution control projects constructed between 1966 and 1972. in many cases, muni- cipalities forgo various improvements to provide for pollution control measures. Because of this, the Environmental Protection Agency, under Public Law 92-500 "Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972", has a program of making special reimbursement funds available., From these special reimbursement monies, it is proposed that funds be expended for four projects as tabled below: (a) Purchase of materials and contractual services for Department of Public Properties for work under the Manpower Program (b) Alterations and improvements to Building Department building (ct Alterations and improvements to Second Floor - City Hall .................. Equiprnent and furniture for City Hall Building. .' .. It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolutions allocating these funds so that these needed improvements can be provided.
