DEVELOPMENT. AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, FOR THE SUM
OF $122,OOO.00 AND ALLOCATING $125,000.00 FROM
THE 1972 PARIC,S AND RECREATION ?ACILITIES BOND
PUNb To COWER THE COST OF ACQUIS2TION OF THE
FEE SIMPLE TITLE TO THIS PROPERTY AND OTHER
COSTS INCIDENTAL TO THE ACQUSITIoN,
WHEREAS, Parcel No. 7096-U is a portion of the property
proposed to be acquired for the expansion of Downtown River-
front, more particularly known as Riverside Park; and
WHEREAS, the citizens
the issuance of bonds to provide the funds to defray the
cost of such property acquisition
the Parks for People Bond
Program; and
WHEREAS, the necessary monies for said acquisition are
available in the 1972 Parks and Recreational Facilities Bond
Fund;
WHEREAS, the owner of
Parcel No. 7096-U has, by Agree-
ment dated March 27, 1975, offered to convey fee
to this property to the City of Miami for the appraised
price of $122,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the City
of Miami, Florida, to acquire this property at this time
through negotiated purchase;
NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to purchase Parcel No. 7096-U of the Downtown`

The development of the Miami Riverfront is one of the projects to be accomplished
under the Parks for People Program. This portion is part of the Downtown tiger
front that is being developed from Flagler Street to the Dupont Blau, by the
Downtown Development Authority,
As a result of a contact that has been made with the owner of the property to
be acquired, an offer has been made and is recommended for acceptance by the
City Manager to convey Fee Simple Title of the following parcel to the City of
Miami:
Parcel 7096-U for the sutra of $122,000, which was the City's
appraised value of this parcel.
The Department of Law concurs with this recommendation to acquire this parcel o
land at the appraised value.
Parcel 7096-U is irregular in shape with the following approximate dimensions:
North Boundary
Northeasterly Boundary
(Frontage on S.W. North River Drive
Southeasterly Boundary
South Boundary
Westerly Boundary
(Frontage on Miami River)

Total. Area - 22,415 sq. feet
Located on the property are two (2) buildings. Building #1 - Built in 1939 is
frame with concrete footing, exterior galls partly of corrugated metal, partly
stuccoed and painted. Roof is corrugated metal. Building'#2 - built in 1925,
frame construction on concrete piers, exterior walls, painted board and batten
and roof is corrugated metal. Both buildings are in poor condition.

The Miami 'City Commission is requested to adopt the proposed resolution
authorizing the purchase of this parcel and authorize the expenditure
necessary to cover the cost and othermiscellaneous expenses of
acquisition.
