MR SHELDON, RATHER THAN A JUNIOR EMPLOYEE,
WOULD BE APP'EO'PED.
WHEREAS, the Executive Secretary, Civil Service Board,
on April 15, 1975, unanimously recommended the approval of
employment past the age of seventy (70) for GEORGE J. SHELDON,
Architect, Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the
h sical condition of said GEORGE J. SHELDON is satisfactory

for continued employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A one (1) year extension of employment
past the age of seventy (70) be, and is hereby, granted for
GEORGE J. SHELDON, Architect, Department of Public Works,
effective on his birth date, May 10, 1975 to May 10, 1976,
with the provision that in the event of a rollback or layoff,
Mr. Sheldon, rather than a junior employee, would be affected.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3 day of MAY 1975

At its meeting of April 15, 1975, the Civil Service Board considered the request
of Ceorge J. Sheldon, Architect in the Department of public Works, for an extension
of employment for a periodof one (1) year, to be effective May 10, 1975 to May 10,
1976

Consultory evaluation of Mr. Sheldonis physical status
indicates a satisfactory one, enough to continue working
in his present capacity. He fails the eye standards
for operating a City vehicle however.

REFtRENCES:
The Department of public Works herewith requests approval of the Civil
',Service Board for the continuation of active service by George J Sheldon,
Architect, after May 10, 1975 his 70th birthday,
Mr. Sheldon has an excellent record of service with the City starting in
July 1949► He has held the position of Architectural Designer (registered
Architect) since 1949. MrSheldon, through demonstrated competence, to-
day carries important responsibilities in his field in our Design Division.
His ability to perform his duties is unimpaired. Mr. Sheldon has been
examined by our City Physician. His findings are attached.
As Director of the Department, it is my recommendation that the Board
rule favorably on this request.
