YEARS COMMENCING ON MAY 15, 1975 AND
ENDING MAY 15 , 1980.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami owns the recreation
area known
as Elizabeth Virrick Park and Pool, Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, activities at the park warrant the operation of
a food and beverage concession to ensure the
this facility by its patrons
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI,
Section 1. That the City Manager and the City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with
VERONICA HUINGS for the food and beverage concession rights
at Elizabeth Virrick Park and Pool, for a period of five (5)
years commencing on May 15, 1975 and ending on May 15, 1980.

The food concession facilities at Virrick Park has been closed
for two years. Since the time this concession has been closed
to the public, it has been extremely difficult to interest anyone
in leasing this concession. There has been reluctance by some
people, who indicated an interest to lease this facility, because
of the past disruptive experiences at this concession.
Recently, Mrs. Veronica Huings has indicated she would like
to open this concession and is willing to sign a lease agreement'
with the City. The City of Miami feels that as a service to the
public, this concession should be opened and in operation.
Therefore, because there are no other concerned parties who
are interested in bidding for the concession privileges at Virrick
Park, it is recommended that the City Commission authorize
the City Manager to negotiate a lease.
