RESOLUTION NO. 75-407
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING' THE BIDS RECEIVED FROM
JANESVILLE APPAREL AND BISCAYNE FIRE EQUIPMENT
FOR FURNISHING EQUIPMENT FOR ONE YEAR FROM THE
DATE OF AWARD TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZ-
ING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT
THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS, AS NECESSARY, USING FUNDS FROM THE
REGULAR 1974-75 BUDGET.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids
were received March 12, 1975 for furnishing bunker items for
one year from date of award to the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to thirteen (13)
potential suppliers and five (5) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bids
received from JANESVILLE APPAREL and BISCAYNE FIRE EQUIPMENT
be accepted as the most advantageous bids to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following bids for furnishing equipment
to the Fire Department are hereby accepted; for one year from date
of award: Group 1 Group 2 Group 3

Janesville Apparel $68.20 $48.80
Biscayne Fire Equip.

Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to
instruct the Purchasing Department to
issue Purchase Orders, as necessary, using funds from the regular
1974-75 budget for this purpose.

Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received
march 12, 1975 for furnishing bunker items for one
year from date of award for the Fire Department.
Invitations were mailed to thirteen (13) potential
suppliers and five (5) bids were received as follows:

The bunker equipment items are necessary to replace dam-
aged and worn out equipment and furnish equipment for
the new firemen. The funds for this equipment are allo-
cated in the regular 1974-75 budget.
It is recommended that Biscayne Fire Equipment be award-
ed the bid to furnish boots and helmets. Although 3is-
cayne's bid on boots was $1.00 nigher than the lowest
bidder, they submitted a sample of their equipmment which
satisfactorily met the specifications, while the lowest
bidder on the boots, P. T. Garrett, did not submit a
sample product as required. It is also recommended that
Janesville apparel be awarded the coats and rants as the
lowest responsive bidder for Group 1.
