A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ACTION TAKEN
BY THE CITY MANAGER IN THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPART,,,
MENT OF ADMINISTRATION THAT WILL PROVIDE
MANAGEMENT TRAINING COURSES TO CITY OF
MIAMI EMPLOYEES AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND
EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS NECESSARY
TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM UPON RECEIPT OF
THE GRANT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The action taken by the City Manager in
the submission of a grant application to the Florida Depart-
ment of Administration that will provide management training
courses to City of Miami employees is hereby confirmed.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized
to accept the Grant and execute contracts and agreements
necessary to implement the program upon receipt of the Grant.

1975.

Management Improvement Program
f :
In order to expand our management improvement program, I have made application for Federal
funds authorized by the Intergovernmental Personnel Act of 1970. If approved, the City will
receive $25,000 in Federal funds to provide a training program consisting of 15 courses at 40
hours per course. It should be noted that the City will not need to spend additional Funds since
in -kind services will be used for the local match,
A resolution will be provided at the April 22 Commission meeting to ratify the action 1 have taken
in submitting this application.
