A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO CONTINUE THE MANAGE-
MENT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF
MIAMI AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS TO
IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM UPON RECEIPT OF THE
GRANT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to submit a Grant application to
the United States Department of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment to continue the City of Miami's Management Improvement
Program.
Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to accept the Grant and execute
the necessary contracts and agreements to implement the
program upon receipt of the Grant.

HUD Comprehensive Planning Assistance Grant

In order to continue to improve the management capabilities of City personnel, the City will submi t
an application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a "701 Planning Grant."
Although HUD has not yet determined the exact amount of funds available, an estimate of
$100,000 has been suggested.
A resolution will be provided at the April 22 Commission meeting authorizing the City Manager
to submit an application and accept funds from HUD for "comprehensive planning."
