A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ACTION TAKEN
BY THE CITY MANAGER IN THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FINE ARTS
COUNCIL OF FLORIDA THAT WILL PROVIDE 95
CULTURAL EVENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI
AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AND TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS TO
IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM UPON RECEIPT OF THE
GRANT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The action taken by the City Manager
in the submission of a Grant application to the Fine Arts
Council of Florida to initiate a program that will provide
95 cultural events with the City of Miami be, and is here-
by, confirmed.
Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to execute the necessary contracts and agreements
to implement the program upon receipt of the Grant.

In order to increase the services provided by the City of Miami's Cultural Expansion Program,
the City will submit an application to the Fine Arts Council oF Florida prior to the April 15
deadline, for a total of 5168,407. If approved for the total amount requested, the City will
receive $73,923 in federal funds to provide 95 cultural events within the City of Miami.
A resolution will be provided at the April 22 Commission meeting to ratify the action taken
by the City Manager in submission of this grant.
