Andrews City Manager LIME ApR 4 t7 3uF Ee*I Information and recommendation concerning use of Miami Baseball Stadium by FABIM for winter fRizbasebali ;^ ENCLOSU ES" On February 27, 1975, in connection with the personal appearance of Mr. Rene Cotera concerning use of the Miami Baseball Stadium for Winter baseball games by the FABIM, the City Administration was requested to obtain information regarding the places of residence of the participants and principals in this baseball league. This is to advise that the President of th.e league, Mr. Cotera, resides in Miami Springs, and 79 of the 141 players reside outside the City of Miami. For the further edification of the Commission, the FABIM played about seventy (70) baseball games at the Miami Stadium :in Winter 1974 and, for lack of better information at the time, paid the City $22 per game for electricity and $20 per game for a custodian. Since the City Parks and Recreation Department co -sponsored this league, they assumed the expense of a groundskeeper, ball boy, announcer, scorekeeper, and two doormen for each game. Games were, and are proposed to be, played at night during the week and on Saturday and Sunday. This, of course, represents overtime situations for City employees who must, therefore, be paid at overtime rates. Suggested costs and rental fees for the proposed 1975 season are as follows: COST ITEM Custodian Electricity Insurance Rental Groundskeeper Ball boy Announcer Scorekeeper Two doormen DAY NIGHT Single Doubleheader Single Doubleheader $ 15.00 $ 30.00 $ 15.00 $ 30.00 25.90 49.20 45 per hour Policy to be provided by FABIM 200.00 350.00- 200.00 350.00 To be provided by City Parks & Recreation Dept.
