On behalf of the Miami Board of Realtors, I hereby request
permission to appear before the City of Miami Commission
meeting of April 10th,
The purpose of my appearance is to discuss a pending Dade
County ordinance relative to recertification of buildings
that have reached their 40th birthday. This ordinance
(number unknown) was on the County's agenda of March 18th,
known as Agenda Item Number 2 (G). Final action on this
ordinance was deferred for thirty days, in which time the
County Manager is to confer with me and other interested
parties. This action was taken after my appearance and
testimony at the public hearing.
I believe that I can show to the City of Miami Commissioners
good reasons why this ordinance would be detremental to real
estate sales, real estate mortgages, and the public in general.
The ramifications could also produce a deteriorating effect on
our tax base.
Please let me know if I can be heard, and approximately the
time that I should be there.
