A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY COMMISSION
TO SIMULTANEOUSLY ADOPT COUNTY -.APPROVED MUNI-
CIPAL BIKE PLANS WITH THE ADOPTION OF THE
RECOMMENDED COUNTY PLAN; FURTHER REQUESTING
MINIMUM COUNTY PLANNING ASSISTANCE TO LINK
UP WITH THE AFORESAID ADOPTED MUNICIPAL BIKE
PLANStFURTHER REQUESTING THE COUNTY PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT TO CEASE AND DESIST FROM
PLACING ADDITIONAL BIKE ROUTE SIGNS UNTIL
SAFE STANDARDS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED AND
FURTHER, REQUESTING THAT THE CITY OF MIAMI HAVE
THEIR FAIR SHARE OF DECADE FOR PROGRESS BIKE
ISSUE MONIES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CITY
ROUTES THAT LINK UP WITH COUNTY ROUTES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The County Commission is hereby requested
to simultaneously adopt county -approved municipal bike plans
with the adoption of the recommended county plan.
Section 2. The City Commission further requests
minimum county planning assistance to link up with the aforesaid
adopted municipal bike plans;
Section 3. The County Public Works Department is
hereby requested to cease and desist from placing additional
bike route signs until safe standards have been established;
Section 4. The City Commission requests that the
City of Miami have their fair share of Decade of Progress
bike issue monies for the implementation of City bike routes
that link up with county routes.
