HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-0356MC:rh 4/10/75 RESOLUTION NO. 75-356 A RESOLUTION URGING THE STATE LEGISLATURE AND ITS APPROPRIATION COMMITTEES TO ADDRESS THEM- SELVES TO THE INCREASING DEMANDS ON THE STATE HUMAN SERVICE; SYSTEM AND SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE ALLOCATIONS FOR HUMAN SERVICE NEEDS. WHEREAS, in time of economic stress and recession, increased financial and psychological pressures are placed on individuals and families; and WHEREAS, this economic and personal stress increases the need for human service programs; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida through both direct and indirect operation provides a significant share of this State's human service programs; and WHEREAS, reports in the public media have indicated that there may be a possible decrease in the State's financial support for such human service programs; and WHEREAS, reorganization of the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services will not lessen the increasing demand for human service programs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Commission of the City of Miami hereby urges the State Legislature and its appropriation Committees to address themselves to the increasing demands on the state human service system and substantially increase allocations for human service needs.
