HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-0342GFK:gg 4/3/75 RESOLUTION No. 75-342 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH OtLEARY- SHAFER AND ASSOCIATES, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS, FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE 46 WEST FLAGLER MINI -PARK, FOR A FIXED FEE OF $11,000.00 FROM THE FUNDS ALLOCATED TO DEVELOP DOWNTOWN URBAN PARKS INCLUDED IN THE BOND ISSUE FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES APPROVED BY VOTERS IN AN ELECTION ON MARCH 14, 1972. WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Miami have approved in an election on March 14, 1972, a Bond issue in the amount of $39,890,000 for Parks and Recreational Facilities which includes $200,000 to develop downtown urban parks; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami publicly advertised an invitation to bid for a professional consultant firm to design a mini -park for its property at 46 West Flagler; and WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission, by Resolution No. 75-19, dated January 9, 1975, selected the firm of O'Leary -Shafer and Associates, Landscape Architects, to provide professional and technical services for such project; and WHEREAS, the firm of O'Leary -Shafer and Associates, Landscape Architects, is qualified to undertake this project and desires to perform these professional services under the direction of and for the account of the City of Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with O'Leary -Shafer and Associates, Landscape Architects, for profes- sional services for the design and development of the 46 West Flagler Mini -Park, for a fixed fee of $11,000.00, from the funds allocated to develop downtown urban parks included in the Bond issue for Parks and Recreational Facilities approved by voters in an election on March 14, 1972. I f r5R-0 r•f rz: MEMO ANDli.'�1 APR 4 1375 III Contract for Professional Services 46 West Flagler Mini -Park On January 9, 1975, the City of Miami Commission passed Resolution 75-19 authorizing the administration to negotiate a contract for professional services for the development of 46 West Flagler Mini -Park with O'Leary -Shafer and Associates. The negotiated contract provides for a development budget of $101, 000 and a fixed fee for professional services of $11, 000. The consultant contract provides for a schematic park design and one alternative to be presented to the Commission for approval; the preparation of contract documents, and a six (6) month period of construction super- vision.
