A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE ACTION TAKEN
BY THE CITY MANAGER IN INCREASING THE
SCOPE OF THE PANELFAB INTERNATIONAL
CORPORATION CONTRACT FROM $159,802.00
TO $164,245.00, AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,443.00 TO INCORPORATE
KITCHEN CHANGES IN THREE CHILD CARE
CENTERS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL
PAYMENT OF $1,724.40 FOR EXTRA WORK DUE TO
ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS; ACCEPTING THE COM-
PLETED WORK OF PANELFAB INTERNATIONAL
CORPORATION; AND AUTHORIZING THE PROPER
CITY OFFICIALS TO MAKE A FINAL PAYMENT OF
$22,147.60.
WHEREAS, three Child Care Centers had to incor-
porate kitchen changes in compliance with requirements of
the United States Department of Agriculture, Dade County
Health Department, and the South Florida Building Code which
necessitated increasing the scope of the PANELFAB INTERNATIONAL
CORPORATION Contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The action taken by the City Manager
in increasing the scope of the PANELFAB INTERNATIONAL COR-
PORATION Contract from $159,802.00 to $164,245.00 is hereby
ratified, and payment of $4,443.00 to incorporate kitchen
changes in three Child Care Centers is hereby authorized.
Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to instruct the proper City Officials
to make an additional payment of $1,724.40 for extra work
due to actual field conditions.

Section 3. The completed work of PANELFAB
INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION is hereby accepted and a final
payment of $22,147.60 is hereby authorized to be paid
to same.

Prior to actual construction, :hang*:s wore needed in the
Child Day Care Centers in order to comply whit requirements
of tie United State Department of Agriculture, the Dade

Code. These changes constituted a 44, •143. 00 increase in
the scope of the $1 59, „02. 00 contract with Panelfab
International Corporation for construction of the centers.
The City Manager approved this increase such that the
Child Day Care Centers would meet or exceed the various
requirements.
During; the construction phase, certain changes were mad
due to discrepancies between design and actual field
conditions. 'These changes were authorized in the amount
of $1 , 724. 40.
The De:), rtment of Parks and Recreation recommends the
payment of these additional funds in the amount of $6, 1 i.7. 4-0,
acceptance of the completed centers, and authorization of
tidal payment of $22, 147.60 to Panelfab International
Corporation.
It is now in order for the City Commission to authorize
payment of $4,443.00 to Panelfab International Corporation
for the required kitchen changes in the three Child Day Care
Centers, to ratify the City Manager's action in increasing
the scope of the $159, 802. 00 contract to include the required
kitchen changes, authorize payment of ;1, 724. 40 to Panelfab
International Corporation for the extra work due to field
conditions, and accept the completed centers and authorize
final payment of $22, 147.60 to Panelfab International
Corporation.
