RESOLUTIONS OR t'A.(TS 0: RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HERE:Wl T t WHEREAS, the general administration and responsibility for the proper operation of the Miami Cii:y Employees' Retirement System and Plan are vested in the Retirement Boards of said System and Plan; and WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. 2230 as amended, it is provided that two members of the Retirement Board who shall be members of the plan, shall be elected for a term oE two years by the Retirement Plan members who are general employees, excluding Policemen and Firemen, in.accordance with such method oE election as shall be provided by the City Commission; and WHEREAS, the Commission, by this resolution, desires to adopt the Rules of Procedure for the holding of the election for said two members of the Retirement Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIA_MI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the following rules of procedure for the election of two members of the Retirement Board of the Miami City Employees' Retirement Plan, in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 2230 as amended, aro hereby established: a. An employee to be eligible for election or to be eligible to vote rut be a member of the Miami City Employees' Retirement Plan and cle._;;Jtied as a general employee as defined under said Plan. l>. SOUTHERN, is hereby appoint- ed to conduct said election and to determine the eligibility of each person presenting himself to vote by comparison of his signature with the. Retirement Plan application of said person, and is hereby authorized to appoint such assistants as he may deem necessary to facilitate the holding of the election. d. In the event that no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast, there shall be a run-off election between the three candidates re- ceiving the highest number of votes. e. The following five members of the Retirement Board of the Miami City Employees' Retirement System, to -wit: P.W. Andrews, W.R. Bailey, Walter Hagan, Edward Jaremco, Ralph L. Parks, are herby appointed an "Election Board" to supervise the election and canvass the returns with instructions to clerify the results to the City Clerk of the City Com- mission within twenty-four hours after such election, and the City Clerk shall file the certificate of said election with the City Commission aL its first regular meeting theteafter, and the City Commission at said meeting shall by resolution declare the candidate elected who shall have rezeivud the greatest number of votes cast, A tie between two candidates si:::11. be decided by lot under the direction of the City Manager. i .
