HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-030031875 MCeb Motion 75-261 RESOLUTION NO. 75300 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES OF THE MAYOR AND COMMIS-= STONERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO THE FAMILY OF THE LATE THOMAS C. WASMUTH WHOSE PASSING ON MARCH 11, 1975 HAS DEPRIVED THIS COMMUNITY OF A MOST RESPECTED CITIZEN AND PROMINENT CIVIC LEADER. WHEREAS, THOMAS C. WASMUTH, arrived in this community as chief executive officer of Burdine's Department Stores in 1965 and rapidly became one of its great leaders in civic affairs; and WHEREAS, THOMAS C WASMUTH, served in an outstanding manner as a member of the Downtown Development Authority, vice president of the Orange Bowl Committee, a University of Miami trustee, a director of the Southeast First National Bank and president of the Miami Club, and WHEREAS, THOMAS C. WASMUTH, as campaign chairman of the United Way led it to one of its greatest successes in 1970 and in 1974; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: Section 1. The Mayor and the City Commissioners of the City of Miami, hereby express deepest sympathy and condo- lences to the family of the late THOMAS C. WASMUTH whose passing has deprived this community of a most respected citizen and prominent civic leader.
