A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO PURCHASE LOT 16, LESS THE SOUTH 45 FEET, BLOCK 1 OF AVOCADO PARK AMENDED 3/68 FOR A TOTAL PRICE OF $34,204.00 FROM WOMETCO ENTERPRISES AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO ALLOCATE $35,000.00 FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND - UNALLOCATED FUNDS FOR SAID PURPOSE, WHEREAS, the City Commission by Resolution No. 74-1376, authorized and directed the City Manager to negotiate for the acquisition of a vacant lot located at the Southeast Corner of the intersection of Southwest 8th Street and l5th Avenue, to be utilized as a Mini -Park Plaza; and WHEREAS, the owners of said property have agreed to sell said property to the City of Miami for a total price of $34,204.00; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City Attorney have determined that $34,204.00 is a reasonable price for the property; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the price of $34,204.00 is a reasonable price for the property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION "DOCUMENT IND OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: ITEM NO °'4 Section 1. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized and directed to purchase Lot 16, less the south 45 feet, Block 1 of Avocado Park Amended 3/68, for a total price of $34,204.00 from Wometco Enterprises, CITY COMM!$SI}H MEETING Or NESULur001, AU.,/,. 4-1. + 9S .$EIMWKS: 1 Section 2. The Finance Director of the City of Miami is hereby authorized to allocate the sum of $35,000.00 from the Capital Improvement Fund - Unallocated Funds, for said purpose. Lloyd tyttor c March 25, 1975 Acquisition of Southeast Corner of Southwest 8th Street and 15th Avenue The City Commission directed the City Manager to negotiate the purchase of the above described property. The City's appraisal indicated a value of $7.75 per square foot for a total price of $31,000.00. Wometco Enterprises, the owner, had an asking price of $10.00 per square foot. After negotiations between represen- tatives of Wometco Enterprises and the property acquisition committee of the City of Miami, Wometco Enterprises made a counter-offer in an amount of $8.50 per square foot for a total price of $34,204.00. Both the City Manager and the City Attorney believe that the counter-offer is reasonable and recommend the purchase of the property at this price. JSL:MEA:rh
