RESOLUTION NO • 75-291
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE 1973 BID RECEIVED
FROM TALLY-EMBRY FORD FOR THE PURCHASE OF
SIX (6) TRUCKS FOR USE BY THE SANITATION
DEPARTMENT a $7,988.0° EACH, AT A TOTAL COST
OF $47,988.00; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING DE-
PARTMENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS
EQ UI PMENT TO BE FUNDED FROM THE PUBLIC
PROPERTIES REPLACEMENT RESERVE FUNDS IN THE
1974-75 BUDGET.
WHEREAS, bids were received November 12, 1973 under
City Bid No. 73-74-17 for the Department of Public Properties,
City Garage for six (6) trucks for use by the Sanitation Depart-
ment; and
WHEREAS, TALLY-EMBRY FORD, failed to deliver the
trucks within the prescribed delivery schedule, forcing the City
to buy six (6) GMC chassis with slight variations to our speci-
fications and these units were placed in service in 1974; and
WHEREAS, TALLY-EMBRY FORD, had never been officially
notified of the cancellation of Purchase Order No. 56785; and
WHEREAS, the Sanitation Department is in need of
these additional units, and the price of these units are
approximately $3,000.00 lower per unit than could be purchased
today;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The 1973 bid received from TALLY-EMBRY
FORD for the purchase of six (6) trucks for use by the
Sanitation Department is hereby accepted a $7,998.00 per unit
at a total cost of $47,988.00.

Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized, and directed to instruct the Purchasing Department
to issue a Purchase Order for this equipment to be funded
from the Public Properties Replacement Reserve Funds in the
1974-75 Budget.

Bids were received November 12, 1973 under

and best bid.
These trucks are nog; ready for delivery at

these additional units.
It is requested that a resolution be nre-
bared to accept the bid frori Tally-Frnbry
Ford for six (6) trucks at a total price
of S47,933.0) to be funded fron the Public
Properties Replacement Reserve Funds pro-
vided in the 1974-75 Budget.
