CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
INYE,R=OFFICE MEMORANDUM
bv
TO:
Mr. P. W. Andrews
City Manager
DATE: January 22, 1975
iJ.
FILE:
SUBJECT: Charges for use of Dinner Key
Exposition Building = ordinance
•
reducing
FROM: i\. L. Jennings, Director REFERENCES:
De artment of Public Facilities
ENCLOSUiQES:
The Dinner Key Exposition Building is now being managed
and operated by the City, since D cer,.ber 1, 1974, when
✓ir. George MacLean, the former Lessee, unexpectedly
terminated his Lease Agreement on the premises.
During this period of City operation it has become obvious
that the structure has many shortcomings and has deterior-
ated badly as regards its attractiveness for use as an
exhibition or convention building. For this reason a
the
,
reduction isadvisabledViSadvisablepresent minimum rC:nta1. charge
of four 'hundred fifty dollars per day, or fraction thereof,
for the use of the downstairs only.
The Department of Public Facilities recommends the adoption
of the attached ordinance reducing the minimum charge for
::he use of the Dinner Key Exposition Building downstairs
only from its present four hundred fifty dollars per day,
or fraction thereof, to three hundred fifty dollars per
day, or fraction thereof.
