A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO A NEW AGREEMENT WITH THE BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB FOR USE OF THE MIAMI BASEBALL STADIUM BY THE BALTIMORE ORIOLES BASEBALL TEAM FOR THE 1975 SPRING TRAINING SEASON, THE CLUB HAVING THE OPTION TO RENEW SAID AGREEMENT FROM YEAR TO YEAR UP TO AND INCLUDING THE 1978 SPRING TRAINING SEASON. WHEREAS, there now exists a lease agreement between the City of Miami and the Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc., which is valid for use of the Miami Baseball Stadium by the Baltimore Orioles baseball team for spring training through the 1975 spring training season; and WHEREAS, the Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc. is desirous of early execution of a new Agreement with the City of Miami and has provided the City with a proposed new Agreement; and WHEREAS, the proposed new Agreement is acceptable to the City of Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a new Agreement with the Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc. for use of the Miami Base- ball Stadium by the Baltimore Orioles baseball team for the 1975 spring training season, the club having the option to renew "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM NO, CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR 121975 Afso*urwf $u..747.7., said Agreement from year to year up to and including the 1978 spring training season. Jennings,- Director Department of&Public Facilities lI xIli 1e.111!�:S 14 A`4 I I : q's DATE: February 13, 1975 IILC, SUBJECT: Baltimore Orioles Agreement for use of Miami Baseball Stadium REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES; The Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc. has expressed a desire for early renewal of their existing agreement for use of the Miami Baseball Stadium for spring training by the Baltimore Orioles. Where the present agreement expires after this 1975 spring training season, they desire to execute a new agreement which would be for the 1975 spring training season and would be renewable on a year by year basis through, and including, the spring training season of 1978. A new agreement has been prepared, the provisions of which are agreeable to both parties, and the Department of Public Facilities recommends the adoption of the attached Resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of the City of Miami.
