P. W. Andrews
City Manager
T am recommending that $40,000 be allocated from Special
Reimbursement Funds the City has received from the E.P.A.
for Sanitary Sewer Construction Work done during the past
10 years to rent five (5) dump trucks for the Department
of Sanitation. These trucks will be used to support
Manpower Program personnel for the filling of holes in the
street parkways that are made by the cranes when yard rubbish
is collected.
This equipment will be needed for approximately four (4) months
until the present order of fourteen (14) dump -type rubbish
trucks purchased by the City are delivered. The trucks will
be leased with drivers. This will put five (5) more men to
work in addition to cloven (11) Manpower Program people.
The Department of Sanitation has the necessary fill material
on hand to accomplish the work, and a continuous hole -filling
program is badly needed.
It is recommended that: the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
allocating; $40, 000 for equipment rental.
