RESOLUTION NO. 75-1,97
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO SETTLE TORT LIABILITY
CLAIMS FILED AGAINST THE CITY OF
MIAMI IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$500.00 PER PERSON FOR EACH CLAIM
FILED; AND FURTHER PROVIDING THAT
THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI ARE AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO
PAY SAID CLAIMS AS AUTHORIZED BY THE
CITY ATTORNEY•
WHEREAS, the City Attorney advises that a
substantial saving would result to the City of Miami pro-
vided that the City Attorney was authorized to settle
claims filed against the City at his discretion; and
WHEREAS, the amount of litigation as a result of
claims against the City of Miami would be reduced provided
the City Attorney was authorized to settle claims promptly
after they have been filed; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney recommends that
authority be granted to the City Attorney to settle tort
liability claims filed against the City of Miami in an
amount not to exceed $500.00 per person;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The City Attorney be, and he is re -
by, authorized to settle tort liability claims filed
against the City of Miami in an amount not to exceed $500.00
per person for each claim filed.
Section 2. The proper officials of the City of
Miami be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed
