HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-019424,1905 MC: eb RESOLUTION NO. 4914 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROENCA CORPORATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $120,163444; ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $120,163.44 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "STORM SEWER BOND FUND" TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCA., TING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $12,016.34 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $2,403.22 TO COVER THE COST OF ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on February 10, 1975 for the construction of CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT D-33 ; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $120,163.44 bid of Roenca Corporation is the lowest responsive bid and recommends that a Contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Fund" for the amount of the Contract, for Project Expense; and for such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The February 10, 1975 bid of ROENCA CORPORATION in the amount of $120,163.44 for the project entitled CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT E-33, namely Alternate Base Bid of Proposal, based on unit prices be, and the same is hereby, accepted at the prices stated therein. The amount of $120,163.44 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Fund" to cover the cost of the Contract. Section 3. The amount of $12,016.34 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of project expense which includes engineering, surveys and inspection work performed by City Forces. Section 4. The amount of $2,403.22 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage. Section 5. The City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into a Contract on behalf of the City of Miami with Roenca Corporation for the construction of CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT E-33. Project #118 Bids were received February 10, 1975 to construct approximately 22 local drainage structures In an area bounded on the north by 36 Street, on the west by 27 Avenue, on the east by Biscayne Bay, and on the south by S.W. 8 Street. As reflected in the attached tabulation of bids, the $120,163.44 bid of Roenca Corporation was the lowest responsible bid for Alternate Base Bid of the Proposal, based on unit prices. E.S.T., on the 10th day of February, 1975, in the City Clerk's office, First Floor of the Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida 33133 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. The work, briefly described, includes: Approximately 21 Proposed Drainage Structures, in the area bounded by N 36 Street on the north, 27 Avenue on the west, S. 8 Street on the south, and Biscayne Bay on the east, with 5 additional structures outside this area. These structures consist of approximately 300 linear feet of 3 foot wide Covered Ditch 1200 linear feet of French Drain 1500 linear feet of 2 foot wide Covered Ditch 1100 linear feet of closed joint pipe All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the Office of the Director, Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plan: and specifications are to be returned in good order and unmarked within 30 days after bids have been received. Proposal includes the time of performance and specifi- cations contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete the work on time.
