GARRETT FOR FURNISHING FIRE HOSE FITTINGS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AT A TOTAL COST OF $8,512.68: AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS MATERIAL FROM FUNDS PROVIDED IN THE GENERAL REPLACEMENT FUND FOR THE 1974-75 FISCAL YEAR. WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received January 8, 1975 for furnishing Fire Hose Fittings for the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to thirteen (13) potential suppliers and four (4) bids were received; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of P. T. GARRETT be accepted since it was the most advantageous bid to the City at a total cost of $8,512.68: NOW, THEREFORE, OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORI DA : BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM NO. o " Section 1. The bid received January 8, 1975 from P. T. GARRETT for furnishing Fire Hose Fittings be, and is hereby, accepted at a total cost of $8,512.68. Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to instruct the Purchasing Depart- ment to issue a Purchase Order for this material from funds provided in the General Replacement Fund for the 1974-75 Fiscal Year. Invitations were nailed to thirteen (13) po- tential suppliers and four bids were received as per the attached tabulation. It should be noted that ABC Fire Equipment Com- pany's bid cannot be considered because their prices were good for only thirty (30) days. In addition, Miami Fire Equipment Company's hid did not include item eleven (11). When item eleven (11) is added to this bid it exceeds the low bid submitted by P.T. Garrett. Funds for the purchase of these items are pro- vided in the General Replacement Fund for the 1974-75 fiscal year. It is recommended that the award be made to P.T. Garrett for furnishing items 1, 2, 3, 5 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11. (items 4 and 9 are not being purchased at this time), at a cost of $8,512.68. The Fire Department concurs with this recommen- dation.
