A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ACTION TAKEN
BY THE CITY MANAGER IN THE SUBMISSION OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NATIONAL
ENDOWMENT ?OR THE ARTS TO INITIATE A
PROGRAM TO PROVIDE 25 CULTURAL EVENTS
WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT
THE GRANT AND EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND
AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE
PROGRAM.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The action taken by the City Manager
in the submission of a Grant application to the National
Endowment for the Arts to initiate a program to provide 25
cultural events within the City of Miami is hereby confirmed.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized
to accept the Grant and execute contracts and agreements
necessary to implement the program.

Cultural Expansion Program

In order to make use of Federal funds to expand the City's Cultural Program,
I have forwarded an application to the National Endowment for the Arts.
If approved, the City will receive $19, 454 in Federal funds to provide 25
cultural events within the City of Miami over a three month period beginning
June 1, 1975. It should be noted that the City will not need to spend additional
funds, since in -kind services will be used for the local match.
A resolution will be provided at the February 27 Commission meeting,
ratifying the action taken by the City Manager.
