A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING AND RATIFYING
THE ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER IN MAKING
EMERGENCY PURCHASES OF TREES, HARDWARE,
TOOLS AND THE RENTAL OF DUMP TRUCKS TO
REMOVE AND REPLACE COCONUT TREES STRICKEN
BY LETHAL YELLOWING; AND ACCEPTING THE
BIDS OF NINE (9) SUPPLIERS AT A TOTAL
COST OF $45,319613; USING FUNDS PROVIDED
IN THE 1974.75 FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND,
WHEREAS, the City Manager made emergency purchases
of trees, hardware, tools and rented dump trucks to remove
and replace coconut trees stricken by lethal yellowing; and
WHEREAS, fourteen (14) potential suppliers were
contacted and nine (9) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the
following companies who submitted the most advantageous bids
to the City be accepted:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The action of the City Manager in
making emergency purchases of trees, hardware, tools and
the rental of dump trucks to remove and replace coconut trees
stricken by lethal yellowing be, and is hereby, confirmed
and ratified,

Purchase of Trees
Pursuant to a request to the Purchasing Division from
the City Manager's Office, a requisition has been com-
petitively priced for the purchase of 1,100 ..alavan
Dwarf Coconut trees to be used in conjunction with re-
placement of the trees cut down which were stricken
with lethal yellowing. The price of these trees is
$9,350.00.
The City ;,anager's office has declared the purchase
of these trees to be of an emergency nature. There-
fore, it is requested that you sign where indicated
below, signifying your approval, so that a purchase
order may be issued, after it has been -determined
that funds are.available for this purchase.
It is recommended that the La;! Department be instruct-
ed to prepare the necessary resolution to rati fy and
confirm this purchase in the amount, of S9,350.00 .at
the next Commission meeting.

Pursuant to a request to the Purchasing Division from the City
;tanager's Office, requisitions have been corr►etitively nriced
for the purchase of the necessary equipment to effectively re-
move palm trees that are stricken with lethal yellot'ing. The
rental of two (2) tractor trailer dump trucks was also priced.
The breakdown is as follows:

The City Manager's office has declared the purchase and rental
of this equipment to be of an emergency nature, therefore, it
is requested that you siyn where indicated below, signifying
your approval, so that purchase orders may be issud, after it
has been determined that funds are available for this purchase.
It is recommended that the Law Department be instructed to nre-
pare the necessary resolution to ratify and confirm this pur-
chase in the amount of $35,969.14 at the next Commission :leetinr,
