Toros Agreement for
Orange Bowl Stadium Ilse
tr-Ftf;
Mr. Angel Lorie, Managing General Partner of the Toros Soccer Club,
met with staff members to discuss economic problems that organization
is now facing. They report that the use fee the City charges them for
the use of the Orange Bowl is proving to be excessive when compared
to the number of ticket sales per event. Since their agreement for
stadium use will soon be due for either renewal or extension for an
additional year, they request at this time the City consider adjusting
the use fee. Although they would not wish to move their home field
to another facility, it is their feeling this move will be necessary if
such an adjustment is not made.
Mr. Loriets request has been carefully evaluated by the City Admin-
istration and we concur that some adjustment is needed. Inasmuch as
the fee charged some of other users of the stadium is 106/;. of ticket
sales without a minimum guarantee, this same schedule could be
applied to the new agreement with the Toros Soccer Club.
If the City Commission concurs with this recommendation, it is suggested
that authorization be given to negotiate a new contract with the Miami
Toros Tnaking these fee adjustments.
