A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED
FROM PITMAN PHOTO, INC. FOR FURNISHING
PHOTOGRAPHIC FILM, PAPER, CHEMICALS, AND
BATTERIES FOR THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 1,
1975 TO JANUARY 31, 1976, AS REQUIRED, AT
AN ANNUAL COST OF $12,000.00 FOR USE BY
ALL DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY; AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT
THE PURCHASING DIVISION TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS, AS NECESSARY, USING FUNDS BUDGETED
FOR THIS PURPOSE, FROM THE 1974-75 FISCAL
YEAR BUDGET.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids
were received December 30, 1974 for furnishing photographic
film, paper, chemicals and batteries, for the period from
February 1, 1975 to January 31, 1976, as required; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to sixteen (16)
potential suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid
of Pitman Photo, Inc. be accepted at a total annual cost of
$12,000.00 since it is the most advantageous bid to the City,
for furnishing photographic supplies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid received from Pitman Photo,
Inc. be, and is hereby, accepted at an annual cost of
$12,000.00 for the following photographic supplies at the
following prices:

Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed kids were received December 30,
1974 for furnishing Photographic Film, Paper, Chemicals, Batteries,
etc,, for the period from February 1, 1975 to January 81, 1976, as
required.
Invitations were mailed to sixteen. (16) potential sunoliers and two
(2) bids were receved.
There are 190 items of sunol i es on the bid fora. Comparing the two
(2) vendors' bid prices and comparing only the items that were bid,
a check of the 169 items that was by one vendor shows the following:
Pitman Photo, Inc. $1,312.50
Treck Photographic Inc. $1,484.33
Treck Photographic Inc. bid on 169 items and Pitman Photo Inc. bid
on 184 items.
Pitman Photo Inc., in addition to being the lowest bidder, also
guarantees the price of supplies for one (1) year, and the City
will take advantane of any price reductions durino the contract
year, whereas Tt'eck Photographic Inc. ".'ould reserve the right to
increase their prices to the City during the contract period.
These photographic supplies are used by all departments throughout
the City and are included in their regular 1974-75 fiscal year
budget.
It is recommended that the award be made to Pitman Photo Inc. for.
furnishing Photographic Film, Paper, Chemicals, Batteries, etc.,
for the period February 1, 1975 through January 31, 1976, as re-
quired, at an approximate annual cost of $12,000.00.
