HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-00931-17 75 MC:eb RESOLUTION NO, .__._: 75'93_ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO WRITE OFF UNCOLLECTIBLE CITY OF MIAMI PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES FROM THE YEARS 1967 THROUGH 1971. WHEREAS, the Tax Collector has made a diligent effort to collect certain Personal Property Tax items, and it has been determined that these taxes are uncollectible because of no assets, owners are gone and property cannot be located, or persons or firms are out of business due to bankruptcy, or other reasons; and WHEREAS, the adoption of this Resolution would eliminate a considerable amount of false assets on the City's balance sheet where they would not be reflected as assets and present a false picture of the City's financial "DOCUMENT I DEX ITEM NO / " NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION position; OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Director of Finance be, and he is hereby, authorized to write off uncollectible City of Miami Personal Property Taxes from the years 1967 through 1971 Tax Rolls of the City of Miami, in the following amounts: Tax Year Amount 1967 $ 168,097.85 1968 166,523.90 1969 199,202.17 1970 183,296.44 1971 191,223.59 Total $ 908,343.95 CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JAN 91975 ItIOLUTION 0007 77.
