Home My WebLink AboutR-75-005612,431-74 MC:eb RESOLUTION NO. 5-5 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED FROM NU -WAY AUTO SERVICE FOR FURNISHING RENTAL CARS, AS REQUIRED, FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR A ONE (1) YEAR PERIOD FROM DATE OF AWARD AT A TOTAL COST OF $123,000.00, PLUS MILEAGE CHARGE OF 5 PER MILE OVER 18,000 MILES ANNUALLY PER VEHICLE; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM, USING FUNDS PROVIDED FROM THE 1974-75 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET AND FEDERAL GRANTS (THRESHOLD GRANT, ORGANIZED CRIME FIGHTING TEAM GRANT, S.T.O.P. CRIME GRANT AND OUTREACH GRANT.) WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received November 25, 1974 for furnishing rental cars, as required, for use by the Police Department for a one (1) year period from date of award; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty-one (21) potential suppliers and four (4) bids were received; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of NU -WAY AUTO SERVICE be accepted at a total cost of $123,000.00 plus mileage charge of 5 per mile, over 18,000 miles annually, since it is the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 'SI r fir} , , THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORI DA :k, !` C / t' Section 1.
