RESOLUTION NO. 75,53
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED
FROM GALL'S POLICE EQUIPMENT, INC. TO
PURCHASE SEVENTY-FIVE (75) REVOLVERS
USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE FROM
THE CITY AT A TOTAL COST OF $3,060.00:
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PROPER CITY
OFFICIALS TO SELL THESE USED REVOLVERS
TO GALL ' S POLICE EQUIPMENT, INC,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids
were received December 6, 1974 for the purchase of seventy-
five (75) used revolvers from the Department of Police; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty (20)
potential buyers and four (4) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the
bid of GALL'S POLICE EQUIPMENT, INC. to purchase the
revolvers at a total cost of $3,060.00 be accepted since it
is the most advantageous bid to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid received from GALL'S POLICE
EQUIPMENT, INC. to purchase used revolvers from the City
used by .the Department of Police be, and
accepted as follows:

Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to instruct the proper City Officials

Tabulation
Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received
December 6, 1974 for furnishing Police Revolvers for
use by the Department of Police.
Invitations were mailed to twenty (20) potential
suppliers and six (6) bids were received per the
attached tabulation.
This purchase represents the annual replacement of
revolvers, surveying and trading in of the older
models which do not have the heavy barrel.
Funds for this purchase are provided in the 1974-75
fiscal year budget.
It is recommended that the award be made to Southern
Gun Distributors for the outright purchase of the
revolvers for furnishing Police Revolvers for use by
the Department of Police at a cost of $6,614.25 and
accepting the bid of Ca1.l's Police Equipment to
purchase the used revolvers at $3,060..00,
The net cost to the City would be $3,554.25.
The Department of Police concurs with this recommendation.
