HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-004112,49=74 Mc eb RESOLUTION N0, 75 L1 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF SULLIVAN, LONG & HAGERTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $595,905.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF N,E. 4TH COURT HIGH- WAY IMPROVEMENT HY4360 (STORM SEWER PORTION) - BID "B"; ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $595,905.00 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "STORM SEWER BOND FUNDS" TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $11,918.46 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $11,918.46 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND POSTAGE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF $68,529.08 TO COVER THE COST OF ENGINEERING CONSULTANT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CON- TRACT WITH SAID FIRM. «DQCIME.NT INDEX ITEM NO. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received December 5, 1974 for the construction of N. E. 4TH COURT HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT 11-4360 (STORM SEWER PORTION) - BID "B"; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $595,905.00 bid of Sullivan, Long & Haggerty is the lowest responsive bid and recommends that a Contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Funds" for the amount of the Contract, for project expense; and for such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage; and WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Fund" to cover the cost of Engineering Consultant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The December 5, 1974 bid of Sullivan, Long & Haggerty in the amount of $595,905.00 for the project entitled N, E. 4TH COURT HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4360 (STORM SEWER PORTION) - BID "B", namely Item 20 thru 96 of Proposal, based on unit prices be, and the same is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JAN 9 1975 Section 2. The amount of $595,905,00 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Funds" to cover the cost of the contract. Section 3. The amount of $11,918.46 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of project expense which includes engineering, surveys and inspection work performed by City Forces. Section 4. The amount of $11,918.46 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of such items as advertising, testing laboratories and postage. Section 5. The amount of $68,529.08 be, and it is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the cost of Engineering Consultant. Section 6. The City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into a Contract on behalf of The City of Miami with Sullivan, Long & Hagerty for the construction of N. E.S.T. on the 5th day of December, 1974 in the City Clerk's Office, 1st Floor. Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Rey Miami, Florida, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Briefly, the work will include the construction. of a positive storm sewer system on N.E. 4th Court between N.E. 54th Street and N.E. 58th Street and between N.E. 60th Street and N.E. 79th Street with an outfall into Little River Canal and into an existing Florida Department of Transportation Storm Sewer at approximately N.E. 55th Terrace. Construction will include catch basins, manholes, concrete sewer pipe and an outfall structure at the Little River Canal. Work will be done in conjunction with the construction of the N.E. 4th Court Highway Improvement. If any questions, call 445-4391 — George V. Campbell, Jr., Highway Engineer. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. Plans and specifications may be obtained from the Office of the Director, Department of Public Works. 3332 Pan American Drive. Miami, Florida. upon deposit of $50.00. Deposit is refundable if said Plans and Specifications are returned in good condition and unmarked within 30 days after bids have been received. Proposal includes the time of performance and Speccfications contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete the work on time.
