RESOLUTION NO4 75440
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF MARKS
BROTHERS COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $521,402470
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF N4E, 4TH COURT HIGH=
WAY IMPROVEMENT H4360 (HIGHWAY PORTION),
BID "A"; ALLOCATING THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF
$371,402,70 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "HIGHWAY
BOND FUNDS" TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLO-
CATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF
$10,428.50 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE;
ALLOCATING FROM SAID ACCOUNT THE AMOUNT OF
$10,428.49 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS
ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND POSTAGE;
ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $59,961.31 FROM SAID
ACCOUNT TO COVER THE COST OF ENGINEERING
CONSULTANT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM.
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received September 27,
1974 for the construction of N.E. 4TH COURT HIGHWAY IMPROVE-
MENT H-4360 (HIGHWAY PORTION) - BID "A"; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the $521,402.70
bid of Marks Brothers Company (not inc.) is the lowest respon-
sive bid and recommends that a Contract be awarded to said firm;
and
WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from
the account entitled "Highway Bond Funds" for the amount of
the Contract, for Project Expense; and for such items as
advertising, testing laboratories and postage; and
WHEREAS, funds are available for allocation from
the account entitled "Highway. Bond Fund"
of Engineering Consultant;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The September 27, 1974 bid of Marks
Brothers Company (not inc.) in the amount of $521,402.70
for the project entitled N.E. 4TH COURT HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT
H-4360 (HIGHWAY PORTION) BID "A", namely Items 1 thru 19

of the proposal, based on unit prices be, and the same is
hereby, accepted at the price stated therein.
Section 2. The additional amount of $371,402.70
be, and it is hereby, allocated from the account entitled
"Highway Bond Funds" to cover the cost of the Contracts
Section 3. The amount of $10,428.50 be, and it
is hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the
cost of project expense which includes engineering, surveys
and inspection work performed by City Forces,
Section 4. The amount of $10,428.49 be, and it is
hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the
cost of such items as advertising, testing laboratories and
postage.
Section 5. The amount of $59,961.31 be, and it is
hereby, allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the
cost of Engineering Consultant.
Section 6. The City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to enter into a Contract on behalf of The City
of Miami with Marks Brothers Company (not Inc.) for the
construction of N.E. 4TH COURT HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4360
(HIGHWAY PORTION) - BID "A".
