A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM
DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, CONVEYING TO THE CITY
OF MIAMI LOTS 3A, 4A, 5A, 6, 6A AND 7A OF
TWIN RIVER ISLAND, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT
THEREOF RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 40, AT PAGE 84
OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
TO BE DEVELOPED AS A NEIGHBORHOOD PARK BY
APRIL 1, 1977, AND DIRECTING THE PROPER
OFFICIAL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO RECORD SAME
IN THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has proposed to
develop a neighborhood park to provide the residents and
employees in the area west of N.W. 27th Avenue needed access
to the Miami River; and
WHEREAS, Dade County, Florida has executed a
Quit Claim Deed conveying to the City of Miami County real
property for this purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Quit Claim Deed from Dade
County, Florida, conveying to the City of Miami Lots 3A, 4A,
5A, 6, 6A and 7A of Twin River Island, According to the plat
thereof recorded in Plat Book 40, at Page 84 of the Public
Records of Dade County, Florida, to be developed as a
neighborhood Park by April 1, 1977, be and the same is hereby

Section 2. The proper official of the City of
accepted.
Miami be and he is hereby authorized and directed to record
the aforesaid Quit Claim Deed in the public records of Dade
County, Florida,

development plan
In 1973, Metropolitan Dade County offered to deed property
located at 2800-2000 N. W. Sou-th River Drive to the City for
the development of i neighborhood park. This property consists
of a strip of land 18' wide by 400' long along the south bank
of Miami River and an adjacent parcel approximately 100' wide
by 280' deep. The river frontage is separated from the larger
lot by N. W. South River Drive. By Resolution 73-987, the City
Commission indicated that the city would accept this property
and develop it as a neighborhood park.
The Department of Parks and Recreation has reviewed this pro-
perty and prepared a preliminary plan for its development. It
is proposed that the river frontage be provided with a guard
rail and landscaping. The portion south of River Drive would
contain a passive development consisting of picnic tables,
benches, a rain shelter, parking area and lan :-3caping . It is
estimated these improvements would cost about $30,000.
It is recommended the City Commission adopt the attached
resolution author.i.zing the proper officials to accept and record
a deed from Metropolitan Dade County conveying property located
at 2800-2900 N. W. South River Drive, said property to be
developed by the city as a neighborhood park.
