A RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE (1) YEAR
EXTENSION OF EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE OF
SEVENTY. -TWO (72) FOR JOHN C. TOMICK,
CARPENTER JOURNEYMAN, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
FACILITIES, EFFECTIVE ON HIS BIRTH DATE,
FEBRUARY 1, 1975 THROUGH FEBRUARY 1, 1976,
WITH THE PROVISION THAT IN THE EVENT OF A
ROLLBACK OR LAYOFF, MR. TOMICK, RATHER THAN
A JUNIOR EMPLOYEE, WOULD BE AFFECTED.
WHEREAS, the Executive Secretary, Civil Service
Board, has unanimously recommended the approval of employ-
ment past the age of seventy-two (72) for JOHN C. TOMICK,
Carpenter Journeyman, Department of Public Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that
the physical condition of said John C. Tomick is satisfactory
for continued employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. A one (1) year extension of employment
past the age of seventy-two (72) be, and is hereby, granted
for JOHN C. TOMICK, Carpenter Journeyman, Department of Public
Facilities, effective on his birth date, February 1, 1975
through February 1, 1976, with the provision that in the event
of a rollback or layoff, Mr. Tomick, rather than a junior
employee, would be affected.

At its meeting of December 17, 1974, the Civil Service Board considered the request
of John C. Tomick, Carpenter Journeyman, Public Facilities Department, for an ex-
tension of employment for a period of one year, to be effective February 1, 1975 to
February 1, 1976.
The Board noted that Mr. R. L. Jennings, Director, Public Facilities Department, has
recommended approval of this request, and that Dr. L. A. Toto, City Physician, has
found Mr. Tomick physically qualified to continue employment for the additional year.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the request. with the provision that in the
event of a rollback or layoff, Mr. Tomick, rather than a junior employee, would be
affected, noting this is in accordance with past policy.

this Department has requested continuation of active service beyond
his 72nd birthday on February 1, 1975'.
In accordance with Rule IT, Section i+ of the Civil Service Rules
nnci Regulations of the City of i.iaani, Zlorida, it is hereby re-
commended that Mr. Tomick be retained on active service. During his
twenty-nine (29) years with this Department his service has been
exemplary and his physical condition anci ability to continue to per-
form his duties are attested to by the attached report of the
Vieuical Department.
