HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-75-002112,48..74 MC:eb RESOLUTION NO.75� 1 A RESOLUTION ORDERING OMNI HIGHWAY IMPROVE- MENT H-4384 AND DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS SHALL BE MADE FOR THE COST THEREOF AS OMNI HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT HL4384; ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 FROM THE HIGHWAY GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FUND FOR PRELIMINARY EXPENSES. WHEREAS, extreme low elevation of streets, located on N.E. 17 Terrace, from Biscayne Boulevard to North Bayshore Drive and on North Bayshore Drive, from N.E. 15 Street to N.E. 17 Terrace, have produced drainage problems and pavement failure; and WHEREAS, Omni International, a corporation, is building a large complex of department stores, shops and hotels, adjacent to streets to be improved and some streets will be closed; and WHEREAS, this proposed building complex will generate greater volumes of traffic which cannot be facilitated by the existing streets; and WHEREAS, entire cost of improvements to be assessed to Omni on a 100% of cost basis, over a 10 year period, is by agreement with the City; and WHEREAS, construction plans and specifications have been prepared by an engineering consultant for Omni, which are to be turned over to the City at no cost or obligation; City to let bid and supervise construction; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. A local improvement described as OMNI HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4384 shall be made under Section 56 CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF J A N 9 1975 RESOLUTION NU., REMARM: of the Charter of the City of Miami as amended, located on N.E. 17 Terrace, from Biscayne Boulevard to North Bayshore Drive and on North Bayshore Drive, from N.E. 15 Street to N.E. 17 Terrace. Section 2. This improvement shall include clearing and grading, excavating and filling, construction of a full width asphaltic concrete pavement consisting of limerock base material and asphalt binder and surface courses; concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage structures and landscaping as specified and described in the Standard City of Miami Specifications for Public Works projects. Section 3. This improvement shall be designated in all proceedings and assessments as OMNI HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4384 and the property against which special assessment shall be made for the cost thereof, hereunder shall be designated as OMNI HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4384. Section 4. The sum of $5,000.00 be, and is hereby, allocated from the Highway General Obligation Bond Fund for preliminary expense. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9 day of JI UARY 197 5. MAURICE A.
