OLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF C. A. DAVIS,
6 IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $36,250 FOR THE
OWNTOWN HANDICAP RAMP PROJECT B-4404; WITH
FUNDS ALLOCATED FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM.
REAS, sealed bids were received on Novembe
NTOWN HANDICAP RAMP PROJECT B-4404; and
HEREAS, the City Manager reports that
. A. Davis, Inc. is the lowest responsibl
de that a contract be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, funds have been programmed and budgeted
under the "Community Development Program" for the proposed amount
of the contract, for project expense, and for such items as adver-
tising, testing laboratories and postage;

based on unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein,
with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Community Development
Prog

8ealed bids for construction of "DOWNTOWN HANDICAP RAMP
PROJECT m t3-440i" will be received by the City Manager and the
City Clerk of The City of Miami, Florida at 2:00 Y.M. on the
/9"iiiitit day of November, 1976, in the City Clerk's office, First
Floor of the Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner
Key, Miami, Florida 33133, at which time and place they will
be publicly opened and read.
Briefly, the work will include the construction of
Concrete sidewalk Handicap Ramps, including pavement patching
in the downtown area.
If any questions, call Mr. George V. Campbell; Jr.,
Highway Engineer, at 579-6865•
Contract Documents, including drawings and technical
specifications, are open to public inspection and may be
obtained from the Department of Public Works, 3332 Pan American
Drive, Miami Florida 33133. Plans and Specifications are to
be returned in good order and unmarked within thirty (30) days
after bids have been received.
The City Commission reserves the right to waive any
informality In any Bid, and may reject any or all Bids, and
readvertise.
Proposal includes the time of performance and Specifica
tlons contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to
complete the work on time.
Each Bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the
amount forth and subject to the conditions provided in the
Information to Bidders and in the :supplemental General Conditions.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the
ttiinimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents
njust be }paid on this project, and that the Contractor trust ensure
that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated
against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or rational
origin.
In addition to these measures Contractors and Subcontractors
Will be required to comply with the provisions of Section 3
(Federal Regulations) which requires all developers,
contracy tors
and sub -contractors create feasible opportunities
h residents in the area or the project; and give preference
'h sub»contracting and purchasing of materials to businesses
bdated in or owned in substantial part by persons residing
in the area of the project.
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after
actual date of the opening thereof, unless modified in Division
Special Conditions of the Specifications. The estimated
construction cost of this project is $44,000 and is to be
funded by the Community Development Block Grant Monies.
