A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $650 FROM THE
SPECIAL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS BUDGET TO
THE DEPARTMENT OF OFF-STREET PARKING TO
PROVIDE FOR THE USE OF GUSMAN CULTURAL
CENTER BY THE INTERNATIONAL REPERTORY

WHEREAS, the City of Miami has reviewed the request
of the International Repertory Company and Ballet, Inc. to
;provide for the use of Gusman Cultural Center; and
WHEREAS, the International Repertory Company and
Ballet, Inc. agrees to assume all other costs related to this
event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
JTliE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. $650 is hereby allocated from the Special
Community Programs Budget tothe Department of Off -Street Parking
to provide for the use of Gusman Cultural Center by the Interna-
tional Repertory Company and Ballet, Inc., on Monday, January 10,
1977, subject to its obtaining liability insurance in such amounts
from approved carriers as the City Manager deems appropriate for
the protection of the City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16 day of December, 1976.

On Friday, November 19, 1976, Mr. Robert Owens,'on behalf of the International
Repertory Company and Ballet, Inc., appeared to request use of Gusman Cultural
Center on a free basis.
Mr. Owens advised that this request was to permit the "Maurice Bejart Ballet of
the 20th Century" to appear for the first time in the Southeast, and for the only
performances in Florida.
The International Repertory Company and Ballet, Inc. is a non-profit corporation.
No professional funds raisers are associated with this organization and they do'
not receive grants or funds from any other source other than ticket sales. Pro-
ceeds will be used for scholarship purposes.
The Advisory Board viewed the appearance of the "Maurice Bejari. Ballet of the 20th
Century" as a valuable contribution to the Miami area cultural environment, and
the International Repertory Company and Ballet, Inc. will submit a complete finan-
cial statement at the conclusion of the event.
The "Maurice Bejart Ballet of the 20th Century" is scheduled to appear on January
10 and 11, 1977, and the waiver is recommended for only the January 10, performance.
Following the review with Mr. Owens, the Board concluded with its desire to recom-
mend to the City Manager that the International Repertory Company and Ballet, Inc.'s
request for the free use of Gusman Cultural Center on January 10, 1977,be permitted.
The total amount represented by this waiver is $650.00.
