HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-76-111512/8/76 'SUPPORTIVE RESotUTtON No. 76-1115 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PHASE II, STAGE A (DESIGN DEVELOPMENT) OF THE WORK BEING ACCOMPLISHED BY THE GROVE GROUP UNDER ITS CONTRACT DATED APRIL 9, 1976 WITH THE CITY FOR REDEVELOPMENT AND MODERNIZATION OF DINNER KEY AUDITORIUM AND ITS IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS. WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami' Resolution No. 76-337 adopted March 25, 1976, authorized and directed the City Manager to negotiate an Agreement with The Grove Group for professional architectural, engineering, and planning services in connection with modernization of the Dinner Rey Recreation Center/Exposition Hall; and WHEREAS, an Agreement between the City and The Grove Group was made and executed on April 9, 1976; and WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami, on October 14, 1976, accepted PHASE I of the work done by The Grove Group under the aforementioned Agreement, said PHASE I being a "Study, Analysis, Conceptual Design and Report as to the Uses of the Auditorium"; and WHEREAS. The Grove Group has now completed the next step as outlined in the aforementioned Agreement, which is PHASE II, STAGE A (Design Development); and WHEREAS, the terms of the Agreement require City Com- mission acceptance of the work accomplished under PHASE II, STAGE A; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF D EX HE "DOCUMENT DOCU CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: �� ITcfa1 140._ Section 1. Draft Resolution; same subject. me Grove Group has now completed another step in its project for 1bdernization of Dinner Key Auditorium and, as required by their Agreement with the City, they are now seeking City Commission acceptance of the work done in that Stage. The work accomplished is as required by PHASE II, STAGE A of their Agreement which is called "Design Development", This stage requires that they: (1) Provide Plans and Specifications at a large scale to fully describe the interior and exterior modifications and renovations recommended and approved by the CITY, An order to adapt the AUDITORIUi; to the functions and activities recommended by the PRINCIPAL. ( ) (3) Provide an architectural rendering which describes the exterior character of the PROJECT after the recommended modifications and renovations have been approved by the CITY. Provide a PROJECT site plan indicating the new site work recommended by the PRINCIPAL and approved by CITY including parking; location and type of new landscaping lighting; service areas; access for service vehicles, public automobiles and pedestrians; and relationship of the PROJECT to other facilities at Dinner Key. Since, on October 14, 1976, the City Commission accepted PHASE I of this project which was "Study, Analysis, Conceptual Design and Report as to the Uses of the Auditorium", and; since the work done under PHASE II, STAGE A follows the conceptual design presented and accepted under PHASE I, and; since the work presented under PHASE II, STAGE A meets the aforementioned requirements of the Ag_ eerlent; the Department of Public Facilities recommends the adoption of the attached Resolution accepting PHASE II, STAGE A of the work being accomplished by The Grove Group under their contract with the City for redevelopment and modernization of Dinner Key Auditorium and its immediate surroundings.
